Transfer news and football gossip: Arsenal to sell Ramsey in January, tycoon tipped for Chelsea takeover, West Ham make final contract offer to Rice

The transfer window may be shut but that doesn’t stop the gossip!

Here’s the latest news and rumours from Friday’s newspapers and online…

Juventus and AC Milan are monitoring Aaron Ramsey’s contract discussions at Arsenal, with the midfielder able to move for free next summer. Arsenal have been unable to agree terms with the Welshman, which has alerted Serie A champions Juventus. Milan are also thought to be keeping a close eye on the situation, with outgoing Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis having agreed to join them later this year. (London Evening Standard)

Arsenal would rather sell Aaron Ramsey in January than lose him for nothing. Chelsea and Lazio are also among the clubs interested in the 27-year-old. (Daily Mirror)

Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, is set to meet Manchester United officials in November to discuss the midfielder’s future. The player’s relationship with José Mourinho reached an all-time low this week when he was stripped of the vice-captaincy and the pair were involved in a frosty exchange at the training ground on Wednesday. West Ham United have made an improved contract offer to Declan Rice after the 19-year-old turned down a deal which could have been worth more than £40,000-a-week. Sources have suggested that the new offer will be the final one made to Rice following contract negotiations which have become increasingly frustrating for the Premier League club. (Daily Telegraph)

Barcelona and Spain midfielder Sergio Busquets has signed a new contract at the Nou Camp which runs until 2023, increasing his buyout clause to 500m euros (£445m). (AS)
