Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Spurs move for Barcelona outcast Malcom is a real possibility

Tottenham are currently the club most likely to sign Barcelona forward Malcom, according to reports in Italy.

The Spaniards coughed up £36.5million to land the 21-year-old from Bordeaux in the summer but things have not gone to plan.

Barcelona ace Malcom in a rare outing for the club.

Malcom is still yet to start a La Liga game for his new club, while his two substitute appearances have yielded a grand total of 25 minutes on the pitch.

Now it has been suggested that he could leave the club in search of first team football as early as January.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan have already enquired about a potential move for Malcom when the January window opens but they are not the only interested party.

And the Italian newspaper has claimed that a move to Tottenham is a real possibility as they are more likely to be able to afford the £35million Barcelona will want for his services.

Tottenham ahead of Chelsea and Barcelona in transfer battle for Ajax ace Donny van de Beek

Premier League side Tottenham are ahead of Barcelona and Chelsea in the race to sign Ajax ace Donny van de Beek.

The 21-year-old has been earning rave reviews for his performances in the Netherlands and they have not gone unnoticed.

Van de Beek celebrates scoring for Ajax.

Scouts from Europe’s top clubs have been travelling to see the midfielder in action for Ajax and he could be on the move soon.

Indeed Barcelona and Chelsea are both interested in Van de Beek, who scored 13 goals in all competitions last season.

But, according to Calciomercato, it is Tottenham who are currently leading the race for the Dutch international.

Scouts from across Europe are monitoring the Dutch maestro.

Spurs, in the words of the Italian news outlet, are in “pole position” to sign Van de Beek next summer.

Tottenham are in the market for reinforcements in the middle of the park as doubts remain over the future of Mousa Dembele – who is out of contract in June.

Van de Beek is viewed as a viable replacement for the Belgian but he will not come cheap, with Ajax demanding around £35m for his signature.

If Harry Kane does not move to Real Madrid within the next two years he will never leave Tottenham Hotspur, claims Lothar Matthaus

Harry Kane should move to Real Madrid within the next two years if he wants to play for the LaLiga giants in his career, according to Germany great Lothar Matthaus.

The Tottenham striker has been linked with a Bernabeu transfer in recent years thanks to his splendid form for the Premier League club and England.

Kane has 146 goals in 187 games for Spurs

Kane and Spurs have a crunch Champions League match at PSV Eindhoven – a game you can listen to live on talkSPORT –  on Wednesday night knowing anything other than a win will effectively end their hopes of reaching the last 16.

A failure to make a mark in Europe’s elite competition could lead to an exodus of Spurs players including the likes of Kane.

However, when asked by a Marca journalist after England’s Nations League win over Spain if he would like to move to Real Madrid, Kane replied: “Sorry, not today.”

But Matthaus believes the prospect of moving to arguably the biggest club in the world will be hard for Kane to turn down.

Matthaus believes Kane’s form against Spain shows he is ready for a move to Real Madrid

Writing in his column for The Sun, Matthaus said: “He [Kane] is 25 now. If he does not go in the next two years, by the time he is 27, he will never leave.

“If he did, Real are the only club that would be right for him. Real shine brighter than any other club in the world.

“Let’s be honest, it’s not a question of whether he would be ready next summer or the one after, or the following year. He was ready last week.

“He has the quality and the experience, he knows how to score against anybody. He has that confidence in himself.

Kane and Spurs came up short against Real’s fierce rivals Barcelona in the Champions League earlier this month

“The question is whether Kane wants to leave Spurs, England, the Premier League. He’d never leave Spurs for another Premier League club.

“It would have to be something special for him to leave the club. But if it’s going to happen, it will have to be soon.”

Matthaus went on to say how Real made an approach for him when he was an Inter Milan player in 1991, however, Inter president at the time Ernesto Pellegrini would not let him go.

But the 1990 World Cup winner believes Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would let Kane go if the striker really wanted the move.

Matthaus added: “It would be different if Harry went to Daniel Levy and said he really wanted to play for Real.

“Levy knows what Harry’s done for the club.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if there is an understanding, a gentleman’s agreement, between them.

“He would not have anything written into his contract. He is not that sort of player.

“But if he knocked on Daniel’s door, at the right time, and there was a truly serious offer on the table, it may be different.”

Matthaus suggested Daniel Levy would be willing to sell Kane if the right offer came along

Tottenham transfer news: Spurs tipped to launch €50m move for Barcelona star Malcom in January

Tottenham are reportedly preparing a sensational £44million swoop for Barcelona forward Malcom.

The Brazilian moved to the Spanish champions in the summer from Bordeaux in a deal worth £36.5m.

Malcom has yet to make a major impact at the Nou Camp, and could be set for an early exit

Before that, the 21-year-old was linked with Arsenal, Roma and Tottenham after scoring 12 goals in Ligue 1 last season.

Since making the move to Barca, Malcom has struggled for action and he has made just two appearances this season.

That has led to reports growing that the Brazilian could be allowed to leave the club already – if they can make a profit on him.

And, according to Diario Sport, Spurs are now ready to weigh in with a huge offer of €50m (£44m).

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly still a big fan of Malcom despite missing out on him in the summer.

He would love to bring him to north London and now a deal seems like a real possibility.

Malcom is also said to be attracting strong interest from clubs in Italy, specifically Inter Milan.

Transfer news: Tottenham and Manchester City reportedly interested in Fenerbahce starlet Elif Elmas

Tottenham and Manchester City are interested in signing Macedonia starlet Elif Elmas, according to reports.

Elmas, a midfielder, currently plays for Fenerbahce in Turkey having joined the Istanbul outfit in 2017.

Elmas has impressed since Fenerbahce won the race to sign him in 2017

The 19-year-old is already a regular starter under Phillip Cocu despite his youth, and has featured in all 12 of Fenerbahce’s matches this season.

He’s also already been capped five times by the country of his birth, Macedonia, making his debut last summer at the age of just 17.

“Manchester City and Ajax made concrete offers, in total 26 clubs made bids for Elif Elmas,” Yildirim is quoted as saying.

Elmas has featured in every Fenerbahce match this season, starting the majority of them

And having continued to impress with Fenerbahce, the interest in Elmas has returned – with City renewing their wish to sign the midfielder.

They are joined by their Premier League rivals Tottenham in the race for Elmas, while Sevilla are also said to be keen, according to Turkish-Football.

Harry Kane could flourish in La Liga – Sergio Ramos

Source: bbc.co.uk/football

Spain captain Sergio Ramos believes England counterpart Harry Kane has the ability to succeed in La Liga – and sees him as the dangerman in Monday’s Nations League match in Seville.

Tottenham’s Kane, 25, has gone six games without an international goal.

But, asked whether any England players would flourish in Spain, Ramos replied: “Harry Kane is physically a fantastic striker but also technically.

“He can surprise you – but not me as we have prepared for him.”

Spain are in pole position in their Nations League group after back-to-back victories – including beating England 2-1 at Wembley last month.

But Ramos, who is set to win his 160th cap, has been impressed by the Three Lions, who finished fourth at the World Cup in Russia.

“There are always very technical players in the England team that are dangerous but I can assure you we have been watching them,” said the 32-year-old Real Madrid defender.

“We know the level of difficulty will be very high. We know we have a fantastic national team in front of us, and even though we played a great game at Wembley there are things we can improve.

“England had a fantastic World Cup. They have a lot of personality despite being very young, and offensively they are very dangerous.

Harry Kane is a very good player. We have to keep his scoring drought going because that will be a good sign for us.”

After England’s 0-0 draw with Croatia on Friday, Kane dismissed suggestions he needs a rest, saying he does not think his “game has dipped”.

While Ramos praised Kane, Spain coach Luis Enrique declared his admiration for England counterpart Gareth Southgate.

“I really like Gareth Southgate as a manager,” he said. “Maybe historically England haven’t always been playing possession football but Southgate likes to play with possession and he is someone I have always followed with curiosity.

“I really like the way he interprets football. I hope he won’t be lucky against us but I wish him luck every game after that.”

Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Spurs linked with shock move for Chinese Super League star Cedric Bakambu

Tottenham are interested in signing Beijing Guoan forward Cedric Bakambu, according to reports.

Bakambu, the DR Congo international, has enjoyed a prolific spell in the Chinese Super League since swapping Villarreal for Beijing earlier this year, going on to net 19 times for the club in just 23 appearances.

Bakambu has enjoyed a successful stay in China since moving to Beijing Guoan in February

He’s helped Beijing Guoan into fourth in the CSL, and currently sits fifth in the competition’s scoring charts.

However, Bakambu’s Chinese adventure could be coming to an end when the European transfer window reopens in January.

According to L’Est Republican, Tottenham have already ‘laid the groundwork’ to secure a deal for Bakambu in the ‘very near future’.

Earlier this year, Spurs became the first team to not sign a single player in the summer since the transfer window was introduced in 2003, but there are suggestions Mauricio Pochettino could dip into the market in the winter.

The reported interest in Bakambu comes as Spurs are linked with signing a new centre-forward to play back-up to Harry Kane, following the struggles endured in north London by the players previously and presently tasked with playing that role, Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente.

Bakambu made his name by impressing in La Liga with Villarreal

27-year-old Bakambu started his career with Sochaux in his native France, before playing in Turkey then Spain, where he enjoyed a productive two-and-a-half year spell with Villarreal.

Beijing Guoan completed the signing of Bakambu for a reported £35.4million on February 28, one day before the 2018 CSL season got under way.
