Striker Rondon is on loan at Newcastle United from Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
The 29-year-old has nine Premier League goals in 25 games for the Magpies this season.
He has impressed for Rafael Bentiez’s side this campaign for his work off the ball as well as his goal tally.
The Venezuela international was one of Benitez’s top targets last summer and got his many on a season-long loan.
And Cascarino believes Rondon has the potential to be a “£50million striker”.
“In January last year, Alan Pardew persuaded West Bromwich Albion to turn down £38million from China for Salomon Rondon,” Cascarino told The Times.
“If he keeps playing like this, he could be a £50million striker. There hasn’t been a better signing this season, but he is only on loan at Newcastle. If they can make it permanent, they should because he can be a Champions League player.”
Rondon’s record for a team who are sitting 13th in the table is solid but how do his stats stack up against other forwards who were signed last summer?
