Rangers transfer news: Steven Gerrard wants FOUR January signings

Rangers hope to make FOUR New signings when the transfer window reopens in January, according to reports.

The Gers were one of Britain’s busiest teams throughout the summer months, bringing 10 new players to Ibrox on permanent deals with a further five signed on loan.

However, Rangers remain five points off top spot in the Premiership, and Steven Gerrard plans to continue strengthening his squad when business can begin again in just under two months.

And, according to The Express, Rangers intend to make four signings in January.

Gerrard is expected to be backed with further funds to push deals over the line, while the club’s scouting staff have already started checking on targets.

According to the report, the top priority for Gerrard is a new forward to provide cover and competition for Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty. the club’s current strikers.

Rangers’ other targets include a new creative player, a midfielder and a defender.

As well as sitting third in the Premiership, Rangers currently top their Europa League group ahead of tonight’s clash against Spartak Moscow.

However, the Gers were knocked out the Betfred Cup at the semi-final stage, losing to Aberdeen at Hampden Park last month.
