Paul Pogba has been branded ‘POISON’ by talkSPORT host Alan Brazil, who has urged Manchester United to sell the World Cup winner as soon as possible.
The speculation surrounding the French midfielder’s future at Old Trafford is perhaps at an all-time high after he was told by Jose Mourinho he will never captain the club again.
The United boss was unhappy with Pogba’s performance in United’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Wolves at the weekend, and raged at the £89million signing in the dressing room after the game.
And he confirmed following Tuesday night’s shock EFL Cup defeat to Derby County that the player – who was left out of the squad – is no longer United’s vice-captain.
And, despite Mourinho once again insisting there is no problem with the player, Sports Breakfast host Brazil believes Pogba is a ‘bad egg’ and needs to leave.
“If Fergie was still manager now, Pogba would not be there – not a hope in hell,” he said on Wednesday’s Sports Breakfast show.
“Fergie would not trust someone with that reputation, even if he is a World Cup winner, he just wouldn’t.
“I think Jose has been patient, but I think his patience has run out now.
“I think he realises this man is a bad egg. A great player and a World Cup winner, but poison.”
Latest transfer reports claim United are ready to sell Pogba when the transfer window reopens, but will demand £200million from any interested club.
Barcelona were strongly linked with an interest in the Frenchman over the summer, with Pogba not really doing anything to dispel the rumours.
Brazil added: “If someone comes in with a massive offer I think Jose will be saying, ‘I’ve made a mistake with this guy, I can’t control him, so I suggest we take the money’.
“But he’s got to make that decision before January, because he’ll have to replace him.
“United’s next two games will be interesting – will Pogba sulk in training and just stroll about?
“Or will he roll his sleeves up, get on with it and say: ‘I want to play, I’ll prove everyone wrong, I’m a World Cup winner, it’s not me’?”
