Mousa Dembele: Belgium midfielder flies to China to complete move away from Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele is flying to China to complete a move away from the Premier League club, according to reports.

Dembele, the Belgium international, is expected to join Beijing Guoan over the coming days in deal that could allegedly be worth up to £11million.

And say he has now left England to finalise his move with Tottenham willing to sell Dembele this month rather than lose him for free in the summer.

Dembele’s time at Tottenham is coming to an end

It is reported he flew to Hong Kong from Heathrow on Monday morning.

Dembele himself wants the move to the Chinese Super League to extend his playing career; beset by injuries over the past couple of seasons, the 31-year-old wishes to play in a less physical division.

The former Fulham midfielder has managed just 13 appearances this season, and he hasn’t featured since November due to an ankle issue.

Tottenham have started assessing potential signings to replace Dembele in midfield, with links to Dlorian Grillitsch, Denis Zakaria and Franck Kessie emerging over recent weeks.

Tanguy Ndombele is believed to be Mauricio Pochettino’s priority target, however, with the Lyon midfielder impressing over the past couple of years.

Spurs will be forced to splash out a rumoured £71million to capture the 22-year-old France international, according to reports.
