Marko Arnautovic: West Ham star branded ‘a disgrace’ as Ray Parlour urges club to offload Austrian to China

Ray Parlour has hammered West Ham star Marko Arnautovic, branding him ‘a disgrace’ for his wantaway antics, and has urged the club to cash-in on the forward this summer.

And the Arsenal legend believes the Austrian will be paid well but ‘will never be heard of again’ if he seals a move to China.

Arnautovic has had his head turned by another bid from China

The 30-year-old was close to leaving the club in January, but West Ham rejected a £35million bid from an unnamed Chinese club and he ultimately ended up signing a bumper new contract.

But, just six months after penning that new four-year deal worth £100,000-a-week, Arnautovic has asked to leave the London Stadium again amid continued interest from the Far East.

According to reports, West Ham are willing to cash-in this time around, although for much less money than they could have sold him for in January.

And Parlour has told the London club they must ‘get rid’ of Arnautovic for the good of the dressing room.

“I think he’s been a disgrace,” the former Arsenal midfielder said on Friday’s Sports Breakfast.

“It’s not right, it’s not how to act as a footballer. You can leave clubs, but you do it in the right way, you do it with dignity.

Marko Arnautovic has ruined his reputation with West Ham fans for his wantaway antics

“Those fans have supported him all the way through his career and I’ve been to West ham when they’re chanting his name, he’s the main man and he looks like he’s enjoying his football.

“If I was in that dressing room, I’d be saying: ‘Get rid of him, we don’t need him, we can get other players in with the money, let’s replace him’.

“He’ll probably go to China and we’ll never hear of him again, like Oscar from Chelsea.

“You’d be disappointed as a team-mate, but you’ve got to get these sort of players out the door quickly and move on.

“You imagine Mark Noble, he’s played for West Ham his whole life and will do anything to get West Ham to win games, and every time the transfer window opens his team-mate wants to leave.

“It’s not great for the dressing room.”
