France and Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez turned down a £70million summer move to Manchester United, according to Marca.
The World Cup winning left-back was a target for a number of top European clubs in the summer, with the Red Devils leading the race at one stage.
Atletico insisted the player wasn’t for sale but were reportedly willing to enter negotiations with United after rumours of a £70m offer had surfaced.
However, according to Marca, Hernandez turned down the chance to speak to United representatives and committed his future to Atletico instead.
The defender was part of the France squad that lifted the World Cup in Russia during the summer and his stock rose significantly after his impressive performances.
Hernandez reportedly has a release clause of around £45m and Atletico are looking to offer him a new deal to scupper any chance of United reigniting their interest in January.
