Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has signed a new contract with Lazio.
The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer, however, the club signed Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk instead.
The Serbian was still linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs.
But Milinkovic-Savic has put an end to the questions surrounding his future by signing a deal with the Italian side until 2023.
It is understood the 23-year-old will be on more than £2.5million a year.
United’s hopes of landing Milinkovic-Savic in the future are not helped by the fact that his contract does not contain a release clause – meaning Lazio will be able to quote a £100m-plus fee should any teams pursue him next summer.
