Leicester City and Southampton are tracking Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet.
The Belgian was heavily linked with a move in the summer when Newcastle United were chasing him.
The Magpies failed to agree a fee for the 24-year-old, though, and he ended up staying at Sampdoria.
But, according to Calciomercato, Praet could still end up in England when the transfer window opens in January.
Praet’s current contract has a release clause €26m (£23m), but Sampdoria are hoping to agree fresh terms with him that would lead to that being increased.
