Gianluigi Buffon said re-signing for Juventus is one of the ‘happiest and beautiful days of my life’ after the club confirmed his return following his 12-month spell with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 41-year-old had been with Juve for 17 years before leaving last summer when he moved to the French giants.
He won the Trophee des Champions and Ligue 1 in his season in Paris, however, PSG opted not to extend his contract.
Buffon agreed a deal to make his Turin return snd the move has now been confirmed as he’s passed his medical, however, he may have to settle for a place on the bench with Wojciech Szszesny currently the no.1
On completing his move, Buffon said to Juve fans: “I am happy to have returned home and to have the opportunity again to embrace you and to be embraced by you.
“This is one of the happiest and beautiful days of my life.
“Today I received the confirmation that life is incredible and it’s always worth dreaming.”
The Italy international first joined the Bianconeri from Parma in 2001 and stayed until 2018, winning 12 Serie A titles and four Coppa Italias in the process. He also won the World Cup with Italy in 2006.
But two of his Serie A crowns were later taken away following the Calciopoli scandal in 2006.
