Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has admitted there was contact with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer over a possible transfer.
The Blues star is a wanted man thanks to his dynamic midfield displays, which helped Leicester City, and his current club win the Premier League title in 2015/16 and 2016/17, respectively, and France win World Cup 2018.
PSG, in Kante’s homeland, are desperate for a defensively minded midfielder and current boss Thomas Tuchel is now set to play Brazilian defender Marquinhos in the role.
It could have been very different with the French side targeting the Chelsea star.
But he revealed he’s happy with his decision to stay in London and continue his career at Stamford Bridge.
“There was no particular desire to go somewhere after the World Cup,” Kante told RMC Sport. “There was interest from other clubs, but things were clear after speaking with Chelsea. The club is counting on me and I feel good.

“The next logical step was to continue with Chelsea. There was some contact with PSG, yes. However, after a discussion with Chelsea, I realised that the main thing for me was to feel good where I was then and am now.
“I am with Chelsea. Staying with Chelsea is good for me.”
