Bayern Munich are plotting a massive summer spending spree to rejuvenate their ageing squad, club president Uli Hoeness has confirmed.
Hoeness announced the Bundesliga giants will undergo the ‘biggest investment programme’ in their history, and Chelsea’s teen sensation Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to be a key target.
Bayern remain desperate to sign the 18-year-old as they seek a long-term replacement for wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, who will both call time on their Bayern careers at the end of this season.
The German club saw several bids rejected in January, including a £35million offer, but they are ready to splash the cash this summer after a disappointing Champions League campaign.
“We are in the process of rejuvenating our team,” Hoeness said at a brokerage fair in Munich.

“It’s the biggest investment programme FC Bayern has ever had.”
Hudson-Odoi’s contract expires in the summer of 2020 and Chelsea may be forced to cash-in if Bayern come knocking with a big-money offer.
The winger, who rejected a lucrative contract offer and handed in a transfer request in January, reportedly needs convincing if he is to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer.

He is yet to start a Premier League match and most of his opportunities have come in less elite competitions such as the Europa League and the Carabao Cup.
Nonetheless, he recently earned his first call-up to the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Montenegro.
The Blues, who have been hit with a two-window transfer ban, will be desperate to keep Hudson-Odoi.
