Cesc Fabregas is being targeted by Serie A giants Inter and AC Milan ahead of a potential January move, according to reports.
The Spaniard is out of contract next summer, and can therefore sign a pre-contract agreement with European clubs in January.
According to the Daily Express, the 31-year-old is wanted by both Milan clubs, who are both keen on strengthening their midfield options.
Inter were extremely interested in signing Real Madrid and Croatia star Luka Modric after his World Cup heroics, but failed to get a deal done.
A deal for Fabregas was mooted, but never materialised as the Blues did not want to sell.
Luciano Spalletti eventually decided on bringing Radja Nainggolan to the club from rivals Roma.
However, it seems as though AC are in far greater need of midfield reinforcements.
Having signed Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea on loan, manager Gennaro Gattuso soon realised just why the west Londoners were so keen to move him on.
Milan were 2-1 up away to Napoli when Bakayoko was brought on for his debut. They lost the game 3-2.
Fabregas has been dogged by a knee injury since the summer, meaning his only appearance under new boss Maurizio Sarri has come in the Community Shield game against Manchester City.

Summer signing Jorginho seems to have settled seamlessly into the engine room alongside N’golo Kante, meaning first-team opportunities will be hard to come by.
