Tottenham news: Ryan Sessegnon wants to remain in London putting Spurs in pole position to sign Fulham star for £50m

Tottenham have seen their chances of signing Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon increase as the youngster does not want to leave London.

That news will come as a blow to Manchester United who had been hoping to sign the winger, 18, who is out of contract in the summer.

Sessegnon is wanted by Spurs

Fulham have been trying to tie the talented teenager down to a new contract, but have been unable to reach an agreement with the player, who is also wanted by French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham are now favourites to sign Sessegnon , and the Mirror say they are preparing an offer believed to be in the region of £50million.

If Spurs succeed in bringing him on board, it would be their first new signing for two transfer windows.

It is claimed Tottenham could look to buy Sessegnon but loan him back to Fulham for the 2019/20 campaign.

It is highly likely Fulham will be playing their football in the Championship next season, as they are 13 points adrift of safety with only seven matches remaining.

Last season, Sessegnon was vital in helping Fulham earn promotion to the Premier League, but this season has only managed to show glimpses of his potential, netting twice in 29 appearances in all competitions.

Barcelona reopen talks with Atletico Madrid over Antoine Griezmann transfer – reports

Barcelona have reopened talks with Atletico Madrid over the signing of Antoine Griezmann, according to reports.

The striker, 27, came very close to joining the Catalan giants last summer, but he eventually pledged his future to Diego Simeone’s side by signing a new deal to keep him in the Spanish capital until 2023.

Griezmann is keen for a move to Barcelona

However, Griezmann is said to very frustrated at his side’s early exit from the Champions League – Atletico were dismantled by a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick earlier this week – and according to L’Equipe, he is now looking to leave the club.

Griezmann’s current release clause stands at £102million should it be activated before June, but it will rise if no club moves for him.

Furthermore, when signing his new deal the player instructed his agents to include clauses in the deal to allow him to leave the club on certain conditions – and an early exit in Europe was one of them.

However, Griezmannn will have to take a serious pay-cut to join the Catalan club.

Camp Nou chiefs are offering the Frenchman a contract until 2024 where he would earn £13million-per-year, which is understood to be £5million-a-year less than his current wage.

Last summer, Blaugrana stars Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique actively encouraged the club to sign the striker so Barca deal-makers know a potential deal will bode well with the current squad.

This season, Griezmann has scored 12 goals and added a further seven assists in 28 LaLiga matches.

Chelsea transfer news: Zinedine Zidane open to selling Gareth Bale with potential Eden Hazard swap deal on the cards

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane reportedly wants to sell Gareth Bale – with a swap deal involving Chelsea’s Eden Hazard a firm possibility.

Zidane returned to the Bernabeu earlier this week, replacing Santiago Solari in the managerial hotseat.

Zinedine Zidane, right. wants to sell Gareth Bale this summer

The Frenchman quit Real last summer after club president Florentino Perez refused to revamp the squad.

However, Perez has reversed his decision now Zidane has returned – promising him he can spend big this summer.

Zidane will have a £300m war chest to spend, with Chelsea star Hazard and PSG’s Neymar topping his wishlist.

And according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, Zidane is prepared to sell Bale to free up even more funds – although the former Tottenham man has no intention of leaving the club anytime soon.

Zidane wants to free up funds to fund potential moves for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and PSG’s Neymar

He said: “So, to get the best out of Bale, Zidane is going to have to put an arm around his shoulder.

“But the first option will be to try and sell him.

“But it won’t be easy because he earns about €12million net and Real Madrid will probably want around €75million to sell.

“He’s going to be 30 in July, so Manchester United may think twice about putting that kind of money in the direction of Real Madrid and Bale.

“If Chelsea had the possibility of signing Bale it would be a swap with [Eden] Hazard and I expect all that to appear in the equation. But I feel Bale doesn’t want to leave.

“But he will also have to show that he is in love with the game again enough to improve and challenge himself and get to the level we know he can be.”

Real have already signed Porto defender Eder Militao, who will join the club when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Bale was on target as Zidane began his second reign as Real boss with a 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid transfer news: Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea targeted by Zinedine Zidane to replace Thibaut Courtois

Zinedine Zidane has reportedly made Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea one of his main targets in the summer as the reappointed Real Madrid boss looks to replace Thibaut Courtois.

The 46-year-old made a clear statement to the Belgian that he was not in his plans after dropping him against Celta Vigo on Saturday – a move which delighted Chelsea fans.

Keylor Navas, who was a key figure in Zidane’s side that won three consecutive Champions League titles, was preferred between the sticks for the clash.

However, the Colombian goalkeeper also faces an uncertain future in the Spanish capital as the Mirror are reporting that De Gea is once again a prime target for Los Blancos.

De Gea almost signed for Real Madrid in 2015 but Old Trafford deal-makers failed to send the paperwork in time and the move never materialised.

However, Los Blancos chiefs have promised Zidane a massive overhaul of the current Real Madrid squad and De Gea has once again emerged at the top of the Frenchman’s wish-list.

Manchester United triggered a one-year extension on De Gea‘s contract in November to keep him with the club until 2020.

But he is yet to sign a new deal to extend the contract, with the glovesman hoping to become the club’s highest earner.

De Gea, 28, moved to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has been an outstanding success in the Premier League.

He has kept 100 clean sheets in 267 Premier League matches for the Red Devils.

Monchi: Sevilla open talks to reappoint talent-spotter despite strong links with Arsenal

Sevilla have opened talks with famed talent-spotter Monchi over a surprise return for the Spaniard, despite his strong links with Arsenal.

Monchi, who recently left his position as Director of Football at Roma, has reportedly been offered the Emirates hot-seat to replace Sven Mislintat – who left the club after just 14 months.

Monchi could return to Sevilla

Monchi made his name as one of the best talent-spotters in the game at Sevilla after his 17-year stint with the club.

He oversaw a remarkable turnaround for the club – playing an instrumental role in their promotion to Spain’s top flight and helping them win five Europa League titles with his astute eye for talent.

However, Sevilla’s Director of Football, Pablo Machin, has taken charge of the first team, meaning the position is now vacant – and president Jose Castro has confirmed discussions have taken place with Monchi over a potential return.

“Sevilla now need a sporting director and we have looked for the best and the best is Monchi,” Castro told the Spanish media on Friday.

“Our conversations go well with him. The conversations have been very positive.”

In his time at Sevilla, Monchi signed the likes of Dani Alves and Ivan Rakitic before moving for Roma in April 2017.

Aaron Ramsey: Peter Crouch slams Arsenal’s transfer policy saying the Gunners will struggle to replace star man

Peter Crouch has slammed Arsenal’s transfer policy and said the Gunners will struggle to replace Aaron Ramsey in the summer.

The north London club decided not to offer the Welshman a new contract earlier this season and he subsequently agreed to join Serie A table-toppers Juventus in the summer.

Ramsey will bid farewell to Arsenal in the summer for a new adventure in Italy

And Crouch, who moved to Burnley in January after eight years with Stoke, has questioned the piece of business by the Arsenal hierarchy.

Writing in his weekly column in the Mail, the former England striker said: “It’s another week that has shown the error of their ways.

“I have written a couple of times this season about Aaron Ramsey and you will know my position.

“I found it madness they were not prepared to offer him another deal and I can’t believe they are losing him to Juventus for free.

“Ramsey is quality. He is the type of footballer that should cost someone £40million in a transfer fee alone.”

Crouch also believes Emirates chief Unai Emery will find it difficult to replace Ramsey, just as they have done with Alexis Sanchez following his move to Man United last season.

Emery may live to regret getting rid of Ramsey

“If Arsenal want to replace him like-for-like, that is the type of investment they will need to make, along with top-end wages,” he said.

“They will find it is no straightforward task.

“For Arsenal to make the same mistake so soon after losing Alexis Sanchez has left me scratching my head. It was avoidable.”

Leicester City news: Brendan Rodgers admits Ben Chilwell was his top target at Liverpool and is determined to keep him

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted Ben Chilwell was his top target at Liverpool and is determined to keep the full-back at the King Power stadium.

Chilwell has put in some impressive performances on the left-side of the Foxes’s defence this season – and his solid showings earned him his debut for England in September.

Rodgers said he rated Chilwell while he was Liverpool boss

His performances have also drawn interest from Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola reportedly an admirer of the 22-year-old.

Guardiola is said be keen on bringing him to the Etihad in the summer to provide competition for the injury-prone Benjamin Mendy – but he will reportedly have to break the bank to do so.

However, new Leicester chief Rodgers has admitted Chilwell was his top target when he was Liverpool manager and has stated he will do his best to keep hold of him in the summer.

“He wasn’t even in the first team then. But we were looking for a left-back and he was right at the top of the list,” Rodgers said in his press conference on Friday.

“We didn’t get to the ‘nearly there’ as Leicester were obviously going to protect their assets.

“The club were keen to keep him here as he was a boy that was recognised as a talent at the time.

Chilwell earned his England debut in September

“He’s a wonderful young player and he’s still got a lot to learn in his game.

“He really enjoys being here, we’ll see how it pans out but he’s certainly one we don’t want to lose.”

Real Madrid: Zinedine Zidane targeting Raheem Sterling as his overhaul plans continue

Zinedine Zidane is targeting Raheem Sterling as plans for his Real Madrid overhaul continue, according to reports.

The returning Los Blancos chief has already signed Brazilian defender Eder Militao since he was reappointed on Monday.

Sterling has been on stellar form this season

But he has now drawn his focus to attacking options – and Sterling is on the top of his wish-list.

According to the Mirror, Bernebeu chiefs have been watching the 24-year-old ‘closely’ and are set to make a bid in the summer.

In 2015, while Sterling was at Liverpool, Zidane admitted he was an admirer of the Englishman, saying he had been “monitoring him as a player”.

But following Sterling’s remarkable development under Pep Guardiola, the interest now seems to have stepped up a notch.

Sterling has netted 15 league goals and added nine assists this season – and he is on course to break his best goal-scoring record in the Premier League.

He has risen to become one of the most valuable members of Guardiola’s star-studded line-up and according to Oddschecker, is third favourite to be named the Player of the Year, behind his team-mate Sergio Aguero and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.

However, it will take a sizeable bid for Man City chiefs to consider letting Sterling go, as he signed a new contract with the Manchester club last November, keeping him Etihad bound until 2023.

Manchester United transfer news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already knows which players he will sell

Manchester United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already know the players he wishes to sell in the summer should he get the job full-time.

The Red Devils legend is expected to permanently replace former boss Jose Mourinho, perhaps as early as next week, having impressed since taking his role up in mid-December.

Manchester United’s transformation under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been remarkable

Solskjaer is also prepping for the job and has, according to the Manchester Evening News, identified the players who need to be sold on.

Ecuadorian right-back Antonio Valencia is definitely leaving the club come the summer, while Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo are also earmarked for transfers as the Norwegian gets set to overhaul the squad.

Alexis Sanchez could also be on the move but it will take a big deal to take him away from Old Trafford.

Solskjaer is, though, expected to keep hold of Ander Herrera, who has had a fine season, even though his contract is running out in the summer.

Juan Mata’s future is also up in the air but he is wanted at Old Trafford, the Spaniard wants a new two-year deal but it appears he is only being offered a one-year deal with the option of an extension.
