Liverpool transfer news: Juventus set to rival Reds and Wolves in race for Toulouse starlet Jean-Clair Todibo

Liverpool have another big-name rival for transfer target Jean-Clair Todibo, according to reports.

The Reds were already battling with Wolverhampton Wanderers for his signature but will now have to contend with Serie A giants Juventus as well.

Toulouse wonderkid Jean-Clair Todibo

The 18-year-old defender has impressed in Ligue 1 this campaign and scouts believe he could do a job in the Premier League.

However, according to Tuttosport, Serie A giants Juventus are also well aware of Todibo’s contractual situation and they could be about to make their move.

Now every club in the chasing pack has received a boost from the news that Toulouse could be ready to sell when the January transfer window opens.

Given he is still only 18, Toulouse would be entitled to compensation should Todibo walk away as a free agent in the summer.

But it has been suggested that they would rather agree a fee in January than wait around for a tribunal to decide on the valuation of the youngster, who has played 10 times in the league so far this season.

Manchester United transfer blow as Napoli get ready to offer Elseid Hysaj a new contract

Manchester United look set to miss out on one of their defensive targets as Napoli get ready to open contract talks with Elseid Hysaj, according to his agent.

The Albania international is on the Old Trafford club’s radar as they attempt to find a long-term replacement for 33-year-old Antonio Valencia.

Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj attempts to tackle an opponent.

The 24-year-old has emerged as one of Serie A’s best full-backs since arriving from Empoli back in 2015 and he has racked up 118 league outings for Napoli.

Hysaj penned a four-and-a-half-year deal back in October 2016 so there is still more than two years left to run on that.

But, amid interest from clubs such as Manchester United, Napoli are hoping to convince Hysaj to further commit himself to the club by penning fresh terms.

Speaking at the Italian Sport Awards, his agent Mario Giuffredi said: “We’ve been talking to Napoli for some time.

“In the next few weeks I’ll meet the President to understand if there are the conditions for a renewal.

“He has only two and a half years left on his contract.”

Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers told to pay £43.5million for Napoli ace Amadou Diawara

Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers will have to pay Napoli £43.5million to land transfer target Amadou Diawara.

The Guinean midfielder has found first-team football hard to come by this term, starting just four of their 12 Serie A games.

Napoli star Amadou Diawara in action.

The 21-year-old is disappointed at his lack of minutes and has since been linked with a move away from the club as he bids to secure more regular first-team action.

Both Spurs and Wolves are said to be big fans of Diawara and have reportedly scouted him extensively.

However, despite only being a peripheral figure at Napoli, the Italian side have no intention of letting him leave on the cheap.

In fact, according to Calciomercato, they will not leave Diawara leave for any less than £43.5m given that he remains under contract until 2021.

Now it will be down to one of the interested parties to hit that figure if they want to land the holding midfielder when the transfer window opens in January.

Manchester United transfer news: Juventus offer three stars in order to secure Paul Pogba deal – reports

Juventus are so desperate to bring Paul Pogba back to Italy, the Serie A champions are willing to offer Manchester United the choice of three of their top talents to seal the deal.

Pogba was seemingly set to leave United in the summer due to several spats with Jose Mourinho, and it appears as though a second exit may still be on the table.

Alex Sandro and Mario Mandzukic are just two of the players Man United have been offered

The midfielder is also wanted by Barcelona, but Juve are confident of bringing the star back to Turin.

According to the Daily Express, sporting director Fabio Paratici is ready to give United the choice of either centre half Medhi Benatia, left wing back Alex Sandro or striker Mario Mandzukic.

The Red Devils have struggled defensively for several seasons and Mourinho himself admitted he wanted to bring in defensive reinforcements.

However, before the Portuguese can think about bringing any of those players in, he will have to also offer a significant cash sum along with Pogba.

Mehdi Benatia could help United’s problems at the back

The World Cup winning midfielder has endured an indifferent run of form ever since returning to Old Trafford in a world record deal in 2016.

He missed the Manchester derby defeat to rivals City through injury and it seems his presence was sorely missed.

When asked about a return to his former side after helping United claim a 2-1 Champions League victory, Pogba was extremely defensive and refused to give much away.

“Who knows? I’m with United now,” Pogba said.

“There is so much talk about this, but am happy to be playing for Manchester United. It was wonderful coming back here, although it felt weird going into the ‘away’ locker room.

“I was so accustomed to the Juve one. The reaction of the fans really moved me, as I missed them and Italian football. It was great to be back in this stadium, where I started out and won big trophies.”

Transfer news: Plenty of football fans are laughing at West Ham United after hearing Samir Nasri is set for a medical

Samir Nasri is reportedly closing in on a move to West Ham United in what is being descried by many fans as ‘the most West Ham signing of all time’ by fans.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City man is due for a medical in the capital ahead of sealing an £80,000-a-week deal back to the Premier League.

Nasri was sent off during his last appearance in England for Sevilla

At 31 years of age, time may not be on the former France international’s side. Especially when you consider he will not be able to play until 2019 after the conclusion of his 18-month drugs ban.

With youngster Declan Rice bossing Premier League games yet still on his academy wages £3,000-a-week, it really begs the question as to where the priorities of David Gold and David Sullivan lie.

As you can imagine, plenty of fans were quick to ridicule the east London club on Twitter – mocking them for signing yet another Premier League veteran on exorbitant wages with their best days seemingly behind them.
